UMT Finance department faculty member M. Mobeen Ajmal, and adjunct faculty management Shahzaibe Aejazi gave a pro-bono training to the HR team of Ozkartallar Campak Joint Venture (OZPak), a company of Ozkartallar Group Turkey on “Motivation and Compensation of Contractual Employees”.
Mr. Aejazi through his interesting ice breaker proved to the HR people that their team did not consider the contractual employees a valuable part of their team. Furthermore, through an analogy he tried to emphasize the point that having contractual employees is like feeding CNG to car which ends up decreasing the efficiency of performance of the system as a whole.
Mr. Ajmal used a game to stress on the idea that a contractual employee is deemed for failure in most organizations. He went on to show how the management of contractual employees differs from that of permanent and the effect this have on their performance.
The concepts and ideas shared in the workshop were greatly appreciated and there was a demand for further trainings and workshops to be organized.
This workshop was amongst the steps taken by UMT Finance department to further industrial linkages and move towards a knowledge sharing partnership. It is expected that such future activities would result in increased demand for students and even willingness for the companies to become knowledge labs for our students.
