UMT Finance Faculty Conducted Assessment Centre at LUMS

The Mock Assessment Centre was conducted by Mr. Mobeen Ajmal, Mr. Ahsan Ahmad, Mr Shahzaibe Aijazi. Mr.Rashid Mahmood, coordinator Finance department provided support.


Mr. Mobeen Ajmal  was the speaker, who took the floor and introduced himself and started the presentation. While conducting the presentation he asked a question "What is an Assessment Centre?" He provided thew answer with examples of MNCs, banks and local corporations using AC to test the employees.

He informed students about the Assessment Centre process, why a company requires an Assessment Centre for a perfect person. He also conversed with the students about Assessment Centre exercises (individual and group), adaptability, initiative, decision making, leadership and good listening.

Mr. Mobeen engaged students with questions and advised the students to know everything about the company or the client whenever they had an interview. He gave valuable tips of networking. Exercises during the sessions included:

  • Group discussion
  • Case study
  • Presentations
  • Group exercise
  • Psychometric tests
  • Feedback

In these activities students were told to become some important personalities.Ahsan Ahmed conducted Students role and discussed topics such as arms dealing, natural resources and investment in a particular country. At the end of every role play discussion the judge always said that, “speak less but speak at the right time and sensibly”. He also appreciated the students of LUMS in solving the solution.

Shahzaibe Aijazi (Adjunct UMT)  conducted the group discussion exercise, students were given the task of launching Islamic banking in London. Students were given charts to portray their solutions on it. All the three groups had different ideas.
